After Credits ("After Credits", "we", "us", operated by Rekan M Koye) is a personal TV & movie tracking app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account or using After Credits, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address and a username you choose, used to create and secure your account.
- An encrypted password (we never see or store your password in plain text).
Activity you create in the app
- Shows and movies you track and their status (watchlist, watching, watched, dropped).
- Episodes and movies you mark as watched, including the dates you set and rewatches.
- Ratings and comments you post.
Technical data
- Basic diagnostic and device information needed to run the app reliably.
2. How we use your information
- To provide core features — syncing your library, progress, ratings and comments across sessions.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To keep the service running reliably and to prevent abuse.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cost & donations
After Credits is completely free. There are no ads, no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no features locked behind a purchase. Every account gets the same app.
We may accept voluntary donations to help cover hosting costs. Donations are entirely optional, are handled outside the app, and unlock nothing — donating grants no extra features, content, or capabilities, and choosing not to donate costs you nothing. We do not receive or store your payment details.
4. Third‑party services
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — provides show/movie metadata and images. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. See the TMDB Privacy Policy.
- Appwrite — our self‑hosted backend stores your account and activity data on infrastructure we control.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed as described in our Account & Data Deletion page.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access & export — request a copy of your data by contacting us.
- Correction — edit your profile and activity in the app at any time.
- Deletion — delete your account and data via the in‑app option or the deletion page.
- Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may have additional rights; contact us to exercise them.
7. Children
After Credits is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry‑standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, per‑user access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
